River Tiber is the moniker of Toronto-based producer, vocalist, and multi-instrumentalist
Tommy Paxton-Beesley.

In three short years, he has developed a global reputation as a producer, not only for
the acumen demonstrated in the recording of his own music [2013 EPThe Star Falls,
2015 follow up When The Time Is Right, and 2016 debut full-length Indigo], but for his
work with beat maker heavyweights like Frank Dukes and WondaGurl, and securing
placements or samples on releases by Drake, Usher, Travis Scott, Mac Miller, and
more. He also sessioned on BADBADNOTGOOD x Ghostface Killah’s Polaris Music
Prize shortlisted title, Sour Soul, and Justin Nozuka’s 2014 release, Ulysses. He has
toured and supported a list of globally relevant artists ranging from Flume to Jessy
Lanza.

Since 2014, he has become increasingly active, performing select live dates and
commencing a management relationship with Arts & Crafts Productions and a Canadian
booking relationship with United Talent Agency. Since then, River Tiber has secured
worldwide booking representation through Paradigm (formerly Windish) and ATC Live.
In 2015 River Tiber began setting up a follow up EP, including the Drake-sampled “No
Talk.” When The Time Is Right was released September 16, 2015 and was celebrated
globally, garnering support from Beats 1, Pitchfork, FADER, Pigeons & Planes,
Complex, SPIN, and many more.

The same year he was tapped as one of just three Canadian artists to attend Red Bull
Music Academy Paris 2015 and has been embraced as one of Red Bull Sound Select’s
international artist development priorities.

His debut full length, Indigo, was self released globally on June 24, 2016 alongside a
diverse collection of features and collaborations including separate works with
Kaytranada, Jazz Cartier, Pusha T, Daniel Caesar and several others. CBC Music
ranked the album #8 on their 25 best Canadian albums of the year list and Exclaim
ranked Indigo 8/10, with Pitchfork following closely behind with a 7.8.
Now, working as a producer, session performer, recording artist, vocalist and DJ, River
Tiber eyes the alignment with an international label, marketing support from Red Bull
Sound Select and Music Academy structures and the continued rollout of high profile
placements and collaborations towards building a varied and successful long term
career in music.

“Who the hell is River Tiber and why is he suddenly everywhere?” – Noisey
“No Talk” is a far cry from the muted anxiety raps Drake lays on “No Tellin” but the
atmosphere is just as misty and purple.” – FADER
“Gorgeously layered and intimate, both peaceful and haunting.” – Stereogum
